More spot information
SW, WSW and W winds in the cooler season are described as wave-producing winds for Megalos Simos. The source data gives 17–27 kn as the usual range; a current spot source also reports stronger episodes with fronts. Northerly summer winds are mentioned in the original source, but newer spot sources associate them more with Pounta/Pavlopetri.
Wide sandy beach with a sandy bottom. In calm weather the water is flat and clear; strong west to southwest wind can bring waves exceeding 2–3 m. Surf and currents can create demanding riding conditions.
The beach is in the Simos area in southern Elafonisos. The official local tourism website mentions paved access from the main village; small boats also operate in summer. Protect dunes and adjoining natural areas.
The local tourism website lists summer beach service and lifeguards. A current windsurfing/kitesurfing school, rental or sport-specific rescue cover is not reliably confirmed for this beach section.
Waves and currents are possible in strong wind; the source data warns of waves up to about 3 m and difficult washing-machine conditions. No current kitesurfing rescue cover is confirmed. The beach can be busy in midsummer; check local rules on site.
