Spot description
The roughly four-kilometre freshwater lake Limni Amvrakia lies on the route between Lefkada and Patras. A farm track reaches the northeast shore for launching on calm smooth water. Thermal wind is channelled by surrounding mountain valleys and reaches the lake mainly in the afternoon. Remote access has no surf infrastructure.
More spot information
A west to northwest thermal forecast for Bouka can coincide with northerly wind from mountain valleys at the lake. About 15–20 kn is described for planing. Local wind can differ from the broad forecast; check conditions on the lake itself before launching.
Sheltered smooth freshwater has no swell or surf. Shore sections can be shallow and vegetated; check depth and clear passage at entry.
From road 42 towards Agios Nikolaos continue onto E55 to Amfilochia and south to the lake. Turn right onto the northeast-shore farm track to water. The pin marks this shore access; there is no developed beach access to the lake.
No designated parking, rental, school or supplies exist at this remote track access. Bring equipment and do not block the track.
Public use of track and lake access is not clearly established. Clarify permission locally with owners or authorities. Respect sheep, reeds and the protected wetland; no rescue or supply infrastructure at entry.
