Spot description
This launch is at Kato Alepochori beach's western end. In north to northeast Meltemi wind arrives sideshore from the right; depending on strength water ranges from smooth to chop about one metre high. The beach has sand and gravel with some stony sections. Former Tramonto Bar is only a landmark, as it is closed.
More spot information
North to northeast Meltemi reaches this section sideshore from the right. Chop increases with strength. West is not preferred at this access; the separate harbour launch is better aligned for it.
Smooth water in lighter wind, bump-and-jump chop up to roughly one metre in stronger Meltemi. Sand and gravel form the beach, with stones near shore in places.
From the harbour follow the shore road west. The access in the older area report is by former Tramonto Bar, now closed. Several other launches and parking bays line the coast.
Accommodation, tavernas, cafés and small shops are in town. Tramonto Bar mentioned in the older report is closed; its former site is only a landmark.
Partly stony shoreline and increasing chop depending on strength. In more onshore Meltemi consider the return zone and beach activity.
