Spot description
A path from the north-side surf centre leads to the southern shore edge. Shallow water covers the flats around high tide. North often leaves a smooth surface; south can build short waves in creeks. Ebbing water rapidly reduces depth and return options. Keep ferry channel and protected areas clear.

Southerlies particularly suit the tidal-flat side. Many directions are generally rideable; east-southeast leaves too little water under the fin locally.
Sheltered sandy flat-water area on the tidal-flat side. Northerlies often leave especially smooth water; south can form short wind waves. The area is tidal and usable only outside designated protected areas.
From the north-side surf centre a walk with an equipment trolley takes about ten minutes to the tidal-flat side. Entry is at the southern shore edge beside the shallow tidal channel. Rideable around high tide; the Wadden Sea largely dries out at low water.
A north-side windsurfing centre offers courses and equipment.
Watch tide and outgoing current. In southerlies creek currents can pull strongly to the open North Sea; do not cross the ferry channel carelessly. Ride only outside designated protected areas.
