Spot description
A broad, shallow standing-depth Bodden area lies in front of the Ummanz campsite. Westerlies reach it across open water. Nearshore seagrass and shallow depth can hinder long fins or foils. Launch and land kites on the designated lawn. Observe buoys, teaching area and nature-protection boundaries.
More spot information
The large standing-depth area works in a broad window from S through W to NE. Easterlies are also possible but gustier due to the flat hinterland.
Very shallow Bodden water with a broad standing area. Usually smooth to lightly choppy; even strong wind produces only small waves. Nearshore seagrass can hinder long fins and foils.
Best access is via Ostseecamp Suhrendorf; day visitors need a day ticket. Launch kites on the designated lawn. Keep buoys, teaching areas and protected boundaries clear.
Very large standing-depth area; observe seagrass, protected-area and kite-zone boundaries.
