Spot description
The small sandy bay of Psili Ammos lies close to the Turkish coast. Southerly winds can leave flat water due to the short fetch. Northerly Meltemi blows away from the beach into the strait; the launch is unsuitable in this direction. In summer swimmers and boats occupy much space, leaving limited room for kitesurfing.
More spot information
Southerly directions are listed as usable. Northeast Meltemi can blow offshore across the strait towards Turkey; the import source gives offshore as the wind orientation and warns of heavy swimming activity and limited space.
Flat water to chop; sandy bottom and a gently shelving nearshore area.
Small, busy bay. The import source advises against kitesurfing on weekends and in high season; check space and swimming activity on site.
Offshore northeast wind towards Turkey, boats, jet skis and many swimmers. According to the spot source only a few kiters at most can ride simultaneously; do not launch in offshore Meltemi.
