Spot description
More spot information
Easterly to north-easterly trade winds are usually side-onshore to onshore and are reported at around 15–25 kt. The school often finds the best conditions in the morning and early afternoon. Check the angle and strength locally before launching.
A gently shelving sandy beach; mostly flat water inside the bay, with chop farther out and waves over Green Cay reef during north-easterly swell.
Google Maps marks Tropical Ride on Rue de la Baie Orientale, immediately behind the beach. The launch area lies between Kakao Beach and Bikini Beach. Rig only in the designated area and keep clear of the swimming zone; confirm access and current boundaries with the school before launching independently.
Tropical Ride offers kite and wingfoil lessons, coaching and equipment rental directly on the beach. Windsurf equipment is rented by other beach operators; check availability locally.
Independent kiters need reliable upwind ability and experience. A marked swimming zone must remain clear; local rules require a distance of at least 300 m from the beach. Jet skis, parasailing and boats share the bay. Waves and rocks can occur around Green Cay reef; foilers should watch for sea turtles.
