Spot description
The sandy beach extends across Lagos Bay. Summer Nortada blows offshore and can start later than at Sagres. Southwest swell can bring clean waves into bay. Southeast to south sends waves more directly onto beach. Wind orientation changes along beach and at eastern breakwater.
More spot information
Nortada from north is offshore and partly gusty at shore, starting later and weaker than Sagres. Winter southwest brings waves with wind from right. Southeast to south is more onshore; east can create clean waves behind eastern breakwater.
Nortada leaves mirror-flat shore water and small chop outside. Southwest and east can bring waves; southerly winter patterns increase currents and shorebreak.
Drive to long Meia Praia east of Lagos and park at Bar Quim behind sand. Windsurfers use middle access; official kite area lies farther east by golf course.
Nortada is offshore. Wind is gusty near shore and increases outside; launch only with safe return. Southeast to south increases currents and shorebreak. Observe summer water sports and swimming zones.
