Spot description
Loutsa's main beach offers long sandy access with a shallow standing-depth area about 70 metres wide. Suitable Meltemi and thermal patterns keep the sheltered bay mostly smooth for controlled freeride, slalom and practice. The northern Nissakia reef and wave section is a separate, much more demanding launch.
More spot information
North to northeast Meltemi blows sideshore from the left into the bay. When summer Meltemi is absent, thermal southeast can start in the afternoon; about 10–16 kn is reported. West is offshore and not a suitable standard access.
Mostly smooth water with some chop in stronger Meltemi. The shallow sand near shore gives around 70 m of standing-depth space. Reef surf belongs to separate Nissakia access.
Launch at the southern Artemida Bay end by Tony Frey Windsurfing Club, north of the small fishing harbour. The pin marks this centre access; the bay extends several kilometres north.
Lessons, equipment rental and storage at access. The beach is busy on windy weekends and in peak season; use the designated watersports area.
West is offshore. Strong Meltemi can make water choppier; swimmers and other watersports share the bay. Separate Nissakia is intended for surf and reef.
