Spot description
At Vela plaža the fine-pebble beach slopes gently. The middle and southern beach sections by the campsite offer several launch options. In east-northeast the Bora blows cross-onshore from the left. Increasing wind turns chop into steep wind waves. In due northeast, mountains shelter the bay, making wind gustier.
Rare east-southeast patterns can build larger swell.
More spot information
The best Bura comes from east-northeast and blows slightly cross-onshore into the bay. Increasing strength builds steep wind waves. Due northeast is very gusty because of the mountain above town; rare east-southeast patterns can bring larger swell.
Light chop in light Bura, steep wind waves up to about one metre in stronger wind. East-southeast can create head-high swell.
Launch at Vela plaža in the middle of the bay or farther south by Baška Beach Camping Resort and Hotel Tamaris. The fine-pebble beach slopes gently.
Northeast arrives very gusty because of the mountains; strong Bura can build shorebreak and steep waves. Swimmers heavily use the beach in summer; check for safe clear launch space before rigging.
