Spot description
At the northern end of the long sandy coast, Kokkinos Pyrgos entry lies by the harbour promenade. Northerly Meltemi arrives strongest here, blowing across the coast. A short standing-depth area leads to moderate to strong chop and waves about 1–1.5 m high. The spot suits controlled freeride with secure strong-wind skills.
More spot information
Northerly Meltemi reaches the harbour beach particularly strongly as airflow descends over hills. It blows sideshore and can freshen strongly; strength decreases south towards Kalamaki. No reliable fixed knot range is documented here.
Sandy entry has about 20 m standing depth, followed by chop and moderate waves about 1–1.5 m. This is no flat-water area; larger waves and strong wind require secure waterstarts and controlled upwind progress.
Drive to Kokkinos Pyrgos harbour south of Tymbaki. Entry is on the sandy beach beside the harbour promenade with parking there. Keep harbour and swimming areas clear.
Parking is on the harbour promenade. Supplies and further infrastructure are in Kokkinos Pyrgos and Tymbaki.
Northerly Meltemi can be strong and gusty. Watch harbour traffic, swimmers and sideways current. Standing depth is short; returning upwind can be tiring if problems arise.
