Spot description
Kalo Livadi is a long sandy bay open to the southeast on Mykonos' south coast. Southerly winter storms send waves into the bay; in moderate wind, the sandy launch remains easily accessible. Swimmers and beach clubs heavily occupy the beach during summer.
More spot information
South to south-southeast is the suitable weather pattern for waves in this southeast-facing bay. Strong south wind is onshore; conditions then become demanding and require wave experience. The summer northerly Meltemi is usually sheltered here.
Long sandy beach with small waves even in moderate south wind and powerful surf in southerly storms. This is a wave beach; flat water is not a typical surfing condition.
Public access is at Kalo Livadi beach in southeastern Mykonos. In windsurfing conditions, use the sandy launch and start outside designated swimming and beach club zones.
Seasonal beach clubs, restaurants, loungers and parking are available at the beach. Bring your own windsurfing equipment; no windsurfing centre is listed.
Strong south wind turns the bay into a demanding onshore wave spot. Summer swimmers, loungers and beach businesses restrict usable areas; observe local watersports and swimming zones.
