Spot description
The large bay at the Meltemi Windsurf Station usually receives stronger wind than neighbouring Gun Bay. Northwesterly wind is cross-offshore from the left; thermal west-northwesterly wind is gustier close to land. Near the shore, the water remains flat to slightly choppy; further out, a strong Meltemi builds steep chop of around 0,5 to 1 m. Behind the headland towards Gun Bay is a smooth section in the lee.

Northwesterly Meltemi, cross-offshore from the left. When the Meltemi is absent, a west-northwesterly thermal wind can develop; the thermal wind around the station is often 10–25 kn.
Coarse sand and pebbles at the station beach; flat water to small chop near the shore, with steep chop up to 1 m further out in strong wind.
Use the beach at the Meltemi Windsurf Station; keep the marked launch areas clear.
Listed facilities include kitesurfing lessons and equipment hire, surf equipment hire, SUP hire, rescue boats for the three southeastern bays, events, parking, beach services, a snack bar, accommodation and medical care in Pigadia, around 13 km away.
