Spot description
The wide sandy beach offers plenty of launch space. A sandbank lies about 50 metres offshore; beyond it water deepens much faster than in Burger Binnensee. East wind gives unobstructed, steady conditions with small chop to swell. Strong southeast can create small surf at the sandbank. West to northwest becomes gusty downwind of shoreline buildings.
More spot information
East wind arrives sideshore and unobstructed. Strong southeast can bring small surf; southwest is also rideable. West to northwest becomes gusty behind shoreline buildings and is unfavourably downwind.
Sandy beach with offshore sandbank; usually chop to small swell, occasionally mini-surf in strong southeast.
Several parking areas are near the south beach; access is via the wide sandy beach. Use designated windsurfing access points and keep enough clearance from swimmers.
Parking and tourist infrastructure in Burgtiefe; a windsurfing school is on the inland-lake side at Wulfener Hals.
Gusty downwind of buildings in west to northwest; no reliable return route downwind. In summer watch for swimming zones, jetties and breakwaters.
